Thank you so much for linking to that. Honestly I could have gone so much more into that aspect, as someone really obsessive about time and how I spend it — I often think of Adam Gopnik’s piece about ‘busywork’ and how it can be easier to jampack your days (certainly for a personality like mine) than to stay still and take stock!
This is such a great interview - thank you for sharing the transcript of your conversation - packed with gems.
I believe you when you say Oliver Burkeman changed your life - because he changed mine. When he was writing his column, I sent him a fan email and along with his wonderful newsletter and books, I occasionally get to ask his advice. I am seeing him tomorrow for a catch up and will be taking my husband along to mitigate the risk of pledging my life as Oliver's disciple.
PS can't wait to hear who your other life-changing person is!
Wow, what an incredible introduction to Oliver Burkeman. I devoured this interview exchange and can’t wait to delve into his books. Thank you Pandora x

So interesting, thank you! Reminds me of this brilliant/stressful piece in The New Yorker (don't be put off by covid in the headline).

Made me slightly obsessed with calculating how many more times I might eg go to the V&A or see certain friends I only manage to see every 5 years....

Oh yes! And his piece about his daughter's imaginary friend Charlie Ravioli who's always too busy to play with her...https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2002/09/30/bumping-into-mr-ravioli. Really enjoying the Bridget Podcast by the way!
And thank you! Chaos to make, lovely (I hope) to listen to
Yes! I often wonder, am I being too Ravioli?
Great interview. Oliver Burkeman is just so SANE. Thank you both for spending your time on a good thing ;)

Love this interview. It inspired me to explore his posts and purchase his books.
Which book would you recommend or read first? Both sound fascinating and I am in desperate need of a mind shift. Thanks
