When I read that you learned about the anus being the first thing to form in utero I immediately thought that you were currently reading The Bee Sting!

Just finished it and loved it, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

I still need to read Oliver Burkmann's book. I listened to the In Haste Podcast with him and loved it. Surely, the solution isn't to cut off all my friends, quit my job, or give up all my creative work. I was journalling this morning and realized that everything in life is about balance. No matter what we do, the problem is how we find this balance :) It's challenging. The solution always boils down to acceptance, acceptance that we will always try to balance living and not aim for perfection.

I have 17 month month old and started a new job when he was 5 months. I’m pretty sure I’m letting every ball shatter except for work and trying to maintain my relationship with my baby whilst being away. I am curious, as it it’s something not often mentioned, do you others have a cleaner? I’ve been stubborn on not getting one because we legitimately don’t have excess funds but at this point I might actually give up other luxuries to not have to do that. Alternatively, do we need to lower our standards for a clean house?

I have to say I found the stove burner theory depressing because it was so absolute. I think the issue of balance is more fluid. Sometimes work just has to take priority and time with friends may take a back seat. But this may only last for a week or two and then time with friends is back on the agenda and work is bubbling along nicely. Personally I feel that health and family should never be de-prioritised as they are too important. Life is a juggle and all balls can be in the air but none dropped.

So much to laugh and think about in this post. I think friends will always bounce and new ones will also appear just when you need them. No knickers & skirts! Yikes - hope at least it wasn't winter 🥰
