Love these run downs. Shocked by Rodin! And how unsurprising that his wife was in the background chiseling away! Looking forward to watching Scoop too, Gillian Anderson is always impeccable.
Loved this read tonight. And on the subject of new Netflix shows - I started Ripley tonight (hurrah for more Andrew Scott!) interested to know peoples thoughts..
HIGHLY recommend the movie CAMILLE CLAUDEL (starring the perfect Isabelle Adjani and ol' Depardieu as Rodin!!) for a fascinating glimpse into her maligned career/life!
All of the books are now added to my 2024 reading list, which is growing at an alarming rate π but they are all sound fabulous. Always love the social commentary of Nichollsβ books, although I still canβt bring myself to watch the final episode of One Day.
I'm looking forward to Scoop. The more things out about perv Andrew the better. I can't be too judgy about the non-existent hedgehog and the big-hearted lady. I would have done the same. π«£
Furious jumping is my new favourite phrase thanks to Poor things! V excited to read Bobbyβs new book as I loved Isaac and the egg. Also loved As Young As This, donβt want to give spoilers but I was devastated at a certain point iykyk π₯² I interviewed Roxy about the book on my pod & the interview went live today if you fancied a listen: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a-pair-of-bookends/id1616736675?i=1000651256991
Rodinβs wife! Love that weβre unearthing these truths lately π
I know! God bless women like Katy Hessel doing the work
Loved all the Recβs!!! My fave part! Thank you

Thatβs such a good work for her. She really is impeccable. Much like Maitlis. Who is also implacable!
Small Hours and You Are Here are easily my favourite reads of 2024 so far.
I really relate to the idling quote... it takes me back to the days of homework and exam revision!

Will def be watching that - thank you!
Great book rec and love the reminder of the bobble hoglet story. Itβs the little bowl of food that really gets me!! π₯Ή
Shook is truly the word re Rodin! I wonder how many other women are responsible for their husband's work...
HIGHLY recommend the movie CAMILLE CLAUDEL (starring the perfect Isabelle Adjani and ol' Depardieu as Rodin!!) for a fascinating glimpse into her maligned career/life!

Oh fab! I will def listen!
It should be a crime to make Rufus Sewell look like that π
I wonder if Iβll have that thing I have with Dominic West now where I can only see Fred West
Thank you for sharing! Really curious about the talking fox now :)
