As I have written about a gazillion times on more than one occasion, the octogenarian novelist Jilly Cooper’s books played an important role in my tender years. Despite their NSFW (or rather, NSFS) contents, I took a JC bonkbuster into basically every lesson between the age of 11 to 13 and learned everything I knew about sex from her epic bonkbusters.
I was raised Catholic and went to a convent - sex was not something we talked about at school or home. Thanks to JC and her Rutshire Chronicles, however, I read about it plenty. Clearly, there are limits to using her books as sex education - or any kind of education - but Cooper was always pretty progressive in terms of female pleasure and full bushes abounded which I found thrilling both then and now.
